Insecticide. Inhibitor of mitochondrial electron transport. Specifically inhibits NAD-linked substrate oxidation at the oxygen side of NADH dehydrogenase (EC50=10pmol/mg). Inhibits mammalian cell proliferation by inhibiting microtubule assembly through tubulin binding. Can inhibit mitochondrial swelling and cytochrome c release induced by N-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium.
