Background :
Caveolae are specialized plasma membrane associated organelles that participate in numerous cellular functions including endocytosis, potocytosis, transcytosis, signal transduction, and cholesterol trafficking. The major proteins that form caveolae are the caveolins of which there are three major isoforms. Caveolin-2 has been shown to positively regulate Caveolin-1-dependent caveolae biogenesis and this phenomenon is contingent on the phosphorylation of Caveolin-2 on serines 23 and 36.
Immunogen :
Synthetic peptide corresponding to a portion of human Caveolin-2 phosphorylated at Ser36.
Buffer :
Liquid. In 50% glycerol containing 1.0mg/ml BSA and 0.01% sodium azide.
