Background :
The Cyclin dependent kinase family of proteins are important regulators of cell cycle progression. They are constitutively expressed throughout the cell cycle but different members function at different stages of the cell cycle. Activation of Cdks is controlled by three different factors: Cyclin binding, interaction with mitotic inhibitors, and phosphorylation at key positive and negative regulatory sites.
