Product Description :
The Kallikrein-6 ELISA kit is a complete, colorimetric, immunometric immunoassay kit for the quantitative determination of kallikrein-6 in serum with results in just 3 hours.
SPECIES REACTIVITY :
Human
Background :
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins, including kallikrein-6 (KLK6), are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. The KLK6 gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. The encoded KLK6 enzyme is regulated by steroid hormones. In tissue culture, KLK6 has been found to generate amyloidogenic fragments from the amyloid precursor protein, suggesting a potential for involvement in Alzheimer's disease.
