Mouse monoclonal anti-EpCAM antibody, clone VU-1D9

Assay Background :

EpCAM (epithelial cell adhesion molecule, surface glycoprotein) is expressed in normal epithelial cells and in carcinomas. These antibodies are used (as part of antibody panels) for the differential diagnosis of adenocarcinoma and mesothelioma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous skin cancer. Antibodies can also be used to detect micrometastases in the lymph nodes in patients with esophageal carcinoma.
