Background :

EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1, also known as Cell surface glycoprotein F4/80 (F4/80) is a multipass membrane protein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. F4/80 may be involved in the generation of antigen-specific T reg cells that suppress antigen-specific immunity. It is expressed on the surface of macrophages, including the red pulp macrophages in the spleen, microglia in the brain, Kupffer's cells in the liver, and Langerhans' cells in the skin.
