Background :

Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 10 (ADAM 10), also known as CDw156 or Kuzbanian protein homolog or Mammalian disintegrin-metalloprotease or CD156c, and encoded by the gene names ADAM10 or KUZ or MADM, is a cell surface protein with a unique structure possessing both potential adhesion and protease domains. ADAM 10 is localized in the plasma membrane but is predominantly expressed in the Golgi apparatus and in released membrane vesicles derived likely from the Golgi. ADAM 10 is expressed in spleen, lymph node, thymus, peripheral blood leukocyte, bone marrow, cartilage, chondrocytes and fetal liver.
