Background :
The Regulator of Chromosome Condensation 1 (RCC1) is a guanine-nucleotide releasing factor that promotes the exchange of Ran-bound GDP by GTP. RCC1 is a critical cell cycle regulator, and it interacts with Ran, a nuclear GTP-binding protein. RCC1-Ran complex (together with other proteins) acts as a component of a signal transmission pathway that detects unreplicated DNA. Studies have shown that RCC1 plays a key role in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport, mitosis and nuclear-envelope assembly. RCC1 is involved in regulating the onset of chromosome condensation during S phase. The RCC1 protein binds both to the nucleosomes and double-stranded DNA. The RCC1 complex acts as a guanine-nucleotide dissociation stimulator (GDS) by promoting the loss of bound GDP and the uptake of fresh GTP. Mutations in RCC1 have been assiciated with Raynaud disease.
ALT Names :
Regulator of chromosome condensation, Cell cycle regulatory protein, Chromosome condensation protein 1
Immunogen :
Synthetic peptide corresponding to human RCC1.
Package Size :
100 µL

Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry
Storage :
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
