Specificity :

MAB13437 is directed against a synthetic peptide based on the carboxy terminal region of the human sequence. It does not cross-react with other TIMP family members (TIMP-2, TIMP-3, TIMP-4, etc.). TIMP-1 levels in quiescent cells and tissues is low (pg/ml), and stimulation with the phorbol ester TPA or protein concentration is often needed to visualize protein bands. In addition, cell types differ greatly in the amount of TIMP-1 produced.
