Immunogen :

Prokaryotic recombinant protein corresponding to the external domain of the CD4 molecule/Mouse myeloma.

Specificity :

The CD4 molecule (T4) is a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 59kDa. The CD4 antigen is found on a T cell subset known as helper/inducer representing 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. It is also present on 80% of thymocytes, and at a lower level on monocytes. CD4 is expressed in the majority of T-cell lymphomas, including mycosis fungoides. HTLV-1 associated adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma is also generally CD4 positive. A typical lymphoma CD4 panel includes CD3, CD5, CD8, CD7 and TIA-1.
