Specificity :

This antibody recognizes a glycoprotein of 80 - 95 kDa, CD44 is also known as Pgp-1. The antibody stains subpopulations of cells from lymphoid tissues and Dexter long-term bone marrow cultures, as well as lymphoid cells harvested from Whitlock-Witte cultures. Staining of normal bone marrow cells reveals high and low density populations, results consistent with published descriptions of Pgp-1 antibodies. Clone KM-201 has been reported to block adhesion between lymphocytes and stromal cells (MacKay et al., 1988). Epitope is very close to hyaluronate binding domain (Culty, M. et al., J. Cell Biol. 1990).
