product information
Catalog Number :
AB1542
Subcategory :
Neuroscience
Product Name :
Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase Antibody
Product Type :
Antibodies
Clonality :
Polyclonal Antibody
Gene ID :
P07101
Host Name :
Sheep
Antigen :
Tyrosine Hydroxylase
Conjugate :
Affinity Purified
Product Description :
Anti-Tyrosine Hydroxylase Antibody
Cross Reactivity :
Mammals;Rat;Mouse
Background :
Tyrosine hydroxylase plays an important role in the physiology of adrenergic neurons. It is the first and rate-limiting enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of the catecholamines Dopamine and Norepinephrine from tyrosine. TH is, therefore, a useful marker for dopaminergic and noradrenergic neurons. The enzymatic activity of TH requires ferrous ions as cofactors and is believed to be regulated by phosphorylation. At least four isoforms of human TH have been identified which result from alternative splicing.
ALT Names :
Tyrosine 3-hydroxylase;Tyrosine 3-hydroxylase;tyrosine hydroxylase
Immunogen :
Native tyrosine hydroxylase from rat pheochromocytoma (J. Biol. Chem.,1982, 257:9416-9423).
Specificity :
Tyrosine Hydroxylase (TH, Tyrosine Monooxygenase). Cross-reacts with all mammalian forms tested to date and some non-mammalian forms.
Package Size :
100 µL
Uses :
Immunohistochemistry;Western Blotting
Storage :
Stable for 6 months at -20 to -80°C in undiluted aliquots from date of receipt. Store in a NON-self-defrosting freezer. Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variabillity in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
