Amino acids 509-526 of rat cytochrome P450 side chain cleavage (P450scc) enzyme conjugated to KLH.

Specificity :

Reacts with amino acids 509-526 (carboxy terminal) of rat cytochrome P450 side chain cleavage (P450scc) enzyme. By Western blot it recognizes a major band at 49 kDa and minor band at 8 kDa. P450scc enzyme is the rate limiting enzyme controlling steroidogenesis. P450scc is responsible for the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone. The enzyme is expressed in all tissues capable of steroidogenesis, including the ovary, adrenal, testis, placenta and glial cells.
