Sialyl Lewis a [SLea; NeuAcalpha2,3Galbeta1,3(Fucalpha1,4)GlcNAc] is a non-myeloid-specific tetrasaccharide that acts as a minimal ligand for E-selectin (ELAM; endothelial leukocyte adhesion molecule), an endothelial cell-surface glycoprotein that mediates recruitment of neutrophils and monocytes to sites of endothelial inflammation. This monoclonal antibody is specific for the SLea epitope found on various cell-surface glycoproteins and glycolipids.
