Product Description :
Anti-AML1/Runx1
Cross Reactivity :

Species Summary :
Human. The immunogen sequence is identical in certain Runx family proteins in mouse, rat, horse, pig, chicken, Drosophila, zebrafish, and deer ticks, so broad species cross-reactivity is expected.
Background :
The RUNX family of transcription factors plays pivotal roles during normal development and in neoplasias. Runx-1 is associated with up to 25% of human leukemias. The gene for Runx-1 (runt-related transcription factor 1) is rearranged in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), in particular the M2 subtype of AML. A translocation between chromosomes 22 and 8 juxtaposes the Runx1 gene (also known as AML1) with an unrelated gene, usually EAP or MDS1, to create a fusion gene. Changes in Runx-1 also appear to contribute to several diverse autoimmune diseases. A Runx-1 binding site on chromosome 2 is altered in many patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, while alterations in Runx1 binding sites on chromosome 17 correlate with psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. Recently Runx1 has been identified as a critical master regulator in adult hematopoiesis.
ALT Names :
AML1-EVI-1 fusion protein, Core-binding factor subunit alpha-2, Acute myeloid leukemia 1 protein, Oncogene AML-1 , runt-related transcription factor 1 , PEA2-alpha B, PEBP2-alpha B
Immunogen :
The immunogen was a KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 133-145 of Runx1/AML1, dimethylated on Arg142. This sequence is conserved in several Runx family members.
Specificity :
This antibody recognizes human Runx1. Antibody binding does not appear to be affected by the methylation status of the antigen. The immunogen sequence is identical with several runx family members (Runx 1, 2 and 3) in various species, so the antibody is expected to also recognize other runx family proteins.
Package Size :
100 uL
Uses :
WB
Storage :
Stable for 1 year at -20ºC from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
