Anti-Methylcytosine dioxygenase TET1 Antibody

Mouse
Background :
Methylcytosine dioxygenase TET1 (mTET1) is a member of the TET family and contains a characteristic CXXC-type zinc finger domain. mTET1 binds methylcytosine (5mC), a minor, mammalian DNA base necessary to development and retrotransposon silencing, and acts as a catalyst to induce the conversion of 5mC to 5-hydromethylcytosine (hmC or 5hmC), a mammalian DNA base thought to be involved in chromatin structure and in the development of fetal brain, heart and lung tissues. Recent studies indicate that mTET1 regulates the levels of 5hmC, thereby influencing patterns in DNA methylation.
