Subcategory :
Epigenetics & Nuclear Function
Product Name :
Anti-acetyl-Histone H4 Antibody
Product Type :
Antibodies
Clonality :
Polyclonal Antibody
Gene ID :
P62805
Host Name :
Rabbit
Antigen :
acetyl-Histone H4
Conjugate :
Purified
Isotype :
IgG
Product Description :
Anti-acetyl-Histone H4 Antibody
Cross Reactivity :
Tetrahymena;Human
Background :
Histone H4 is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail H4 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the 'beads on a string' structure. Acetylation of histone H4 occurs at several different lysine positions in the histone tail and is performed by a family of enzymes known as Histone Acetyl Transferases (HATs).
ALT Names :
H4 histone family, member A;histone 1, H4a;histone cluster 1, H4a
Immunogen :
KLH-conjugated peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-19 of Tetrahymena histone H4 (AGG(Ac)KGG(Ac)KGMG(Ac)KVGA(Ac)KRHS-C), acetylated on lysines 5,8,12 and 16.
Specificity :
Recognizes acetylated histone H4. Cross-reacts with acetylated histone H2B from Tetrahymena and weakly cross-reacts with acetylated histone H2B from HeLa cells. May crossreact with other acetylated proteins.
Package Size :
200 µg
Uses :
Immunocytochemistry;Immunoprecipitation;Western Blotting;Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP)
Storage :
1 year at -20°C from date of shipment. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
