Additional Information :

Sxl is the master regulator of sexual development and dosage compensation. M114 recognizes Sxl female isoforms (it may not recognize C-terminus variants) and will not recognize the two short male-specific isoforms. By western blot M114 recognizes two faint bands of 33 and 35 kDa only in head and thorax. Whole mount staining of embryos is specific for female embryos.
