The Cadherin-related hmr-1 protein is a member of the classical cadherin family of cell adhesion molecules. hmr-1 is expressed in many tissues and timed during development; among other places it is highly expressed in apical junctions of hypodermal cells during embryonic development and later additionally becomes localized to the apical margins of the intestine and pharynx.
