This antibody has been generated against denatured protein; it immunoblots well, immunostains fixed tissue sections best when the sections are first heat denatured (methanol fixation works well for tissue culture cells), and immunoprecipitates the monomeric alpha subunit after the dimeric receptor has first been denatured, but, doesn't appear to precipitate the native receptor.
