BDNF-#9 does not recognize BDNF on western blots but mAb BDNF-#1 (a different clone from the same fusion; available in the DSHB collection) reacts specifically with BDNF by western blot. BDNF-#9 doesn't appear to recognize chick BDNF. This antibody also recognizes pro-BDNF. For ELISA, BDNF-#9 is often used in combination with BDNF-#1 that recognizes a different epitope on BDNF.
