This antibody is applicable on cultured cells, however the epitope is lost on primary cells after enzymatic digestion. In addition to biliary epithelium, A6 recognizes a wide variety of stratified and simple epithelium of ectodermal, mesodermal and endodermal origin in adult and embryonic tissues plus primary heptocarcinoma. This antibody recognizes the A6 antigen in frozen sections in unfixed, acetone, ethanol, methanol and paraformaldehyde fixed sections.
