Recombinant Human Superoxide Dismutase produced in E.coli is a homodimer, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 2 x 154 amino acids and having a molecular mass of approximately 31 kDa.Human Cu/Zn Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) catalyzes the reaction between superoxide anions and hydrogen to yield molecular oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The enzyme protects the cell against dangerous levels of superoxide.

85% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses.
Storage :
This lyophilized preparation is stable for several weeks at 2-8oC, but should be kept at -20o for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8oC. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20oC to -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
