Description :
S100A3 is a memberof the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs.S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide rangeof cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processessuch as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100A3 binds calcium withlow affinity and zinc with high affinity and is believed to play a role inthe calcium-dependent differentiation of cuticle cells and in the formationof hair shafts.
