C-JUN amino acids 1-81 produced in E.coli , is a non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 52 kDa. C-JUN is a maltose binding protein (MBP) fusion protein with an amino-terminal polyhistidine tag and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.C-JUN is a gene which, in combination with c-Fos, forms the AP-1 early response transcription factor. It is activated by the JNK pathway. This gene is the putative transforming gene of avian sarcoma virus 17. It encodes a protein which is highly similar to the viral protein, and which interacts directly with specific target DNA sequences to regulate gene expression.
