Recombinant Human interleukin 2 receptor, gamma (severe combined immunodeficiency) protein was expressed in modifiedhuman 293 cellsencoding the signal peptide and extracellular domain of human Interleukin 2 receptor gamma chain (aa 1-259). Itwas fused to the Fc region of human IgG1 (aa 93-330).Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a pleiotropic glycoprotein that mediates the production of regulatory T cells and promotes T cell dependent tolerance. Mutations in the gene encoding IL-2R gamma results in X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency, which is characterised by an absence of T and NK cells, and near normal numbers of functionally deficient B cells.
