Description :
Trop-2 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in a wide variety of epithelial cancers. There is little or no expression of Trop-2 in adult somatic tissue. Trop-2 is a novel calcium signal transducer involved in the regulation of cell- cell adhesion. It is an oncogene that has potential as a therapeutic target. It is a possible candidate gene for diagnosis and molecular target therapy of colorectal cancer.
