Description :
IGF-I receptor is a disulfide-linked heterotetrameric transmembrane protein consisting of two and two subunits. Both the and subunits are encoded within a single receptor precursor cDNA. The proreceptor polypeptide is proteolytically cleaved and disulfide-linked to yield the mature heterotetrameric receptor. The subunit of IGF-I receptor is extracellular while the subunit has an extracellular domain, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain. A DNA sequence encoding the extracellular domain of human IGF-I receptor pre-propeptide (amino acid residues Met 1 - Asn 932) with ten histidine residues added at the carboxy terminus was expressed in HEK293 cell line.
