Fibronectins bind cell surfaces and various compounds including collagen, fibrin, heparin, DNA, and actin. Involved in osteoblast compaction through the fibronectin fibrillogenesis cell-mediated matrix assembly process, essential for osteoblast mineralization. Participates in the regulation of type I collagen deposition by osteoblasts.
