Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users.

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human Iba1 (116-147aa AILKMILMYEEKAREKEKPTGPPAKKAISELP), different from the related mouse sequence by six amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by five amino acids.

Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.

Immunogen affinity purified.

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

AIF1 (Allograft inflammatory factor 1), also known as IRT-1, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the AIF1 gene. This gene is induced by cytokines and interferon. Its protein product is thought to be involved in negative regulation of growth of vascular smooth muscle cells, which contributes to the anti-inflammatory response to vessel wall trauma. The gene expresses three transcripts. Using in vitro binding and coimmunoprecipitation assays, Autieri et al. (2003) determined that AIF1 interacts with actin. In unstimulated VSMCs, AIF1 colocalized with F-actin, but translocated to lamellipodia upon PDGF stimulation. VSMCs stably transduced with AIF1 retrovirus migrated 2.6-fold more rapidly in response to PDGF than control cells. AIF1 colocalized with RAC1, and AIF1-transduced VSMCs showed a constitutive and enhanced activation of RAC1. Autieri et al. (2003) concluded that AIF1 binds and polymerizes F-actin and regulates RAC1 activity and VSMC migration.
