WB: The detection limit for SLC16A3 is approximately 0.25ng/lane under reducing conditions. Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users.

Immunogen :

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal of human SLC16A3(438-465aa VDLREVEHFLKAEPEKNGEVVHTPETSV), different from the related mouse and rat sequences by one amino acid.

Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg NaN3.

Reconstitution :

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

Storage :

At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Background :

Monocarboxylate transporter 4, also known as MCT4, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC16A3 gene. Lactic acid and pyruvate transport across plasma membranes is catalyzed by members of the proton-linked monocarboxylate transporter (MCT) family, which has been designated solute carrier family-16. The monocarboxylic acid transporter MCT4 was demonstrated a role as a viral replication resistance factor, a requirement for the ubiquitin ligase CBLL1in West Nile virus internalization, and a post-entry role for the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation pathway in viral infection.
