A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human Glutathione Peroxidase 2(44-60aa TRDFTQLNELQCRFPRR), different from the related mouse sequence by two amino acids and from related rat sequence by one amino acid.

Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na2HPO4, 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN3.

Immunogen affinity purified.

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

At -20˚C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4˚C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20˚C for a longer time. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

GPX2(glutathione peroxidase 2(gastrointestinal)) also known as GSHPX-GI or GLUTATHIONE PEROXIDASE, GASTROINTESTINAL, is a member of the glutathione peroxidase family encoding a selenium-dependent glutathione peroxidase that is one of two isoenzymes responsible for the majority of the glutathione-dependent hydrogen peroxide-reducing activity in the epithelium of the gastrointestinal tract. The GPX2 gene is mapped to chromosome 14 by Southern analysis of human/hamster somatic cell hybrids. Gpx6 is aselenoprotein in humans with cysteine-containing homologues in rodents.
