Usually after electrophoresis, researchers should evaluate the result through staining and destaining, and detect the protein which was disassembled into different bands from the gel. Besides, researchers also could electroblotting the gel for different research purpose. This solution is a coomassie blue G-250 dye-based, can be widely used for rapid staining of protein electrophoresis gel of SDS-PAGE or non-denaturing PAGE, as well as in the residual protein detection of PAGE gel after by Western transferring. By this means, the working range for protein electrophoresis bands can be as low as 10ng. This production is acidic and its corrosion requires a necessary protection when use it.

1. After electrophoresis, place gel in the distilled water. Shake slowly 3 times, 5 min each. The purpose of this step is to gently remove the interference of SDS and salt. At the end of this time, remove the solution by aspiration. 2. Remove the distilled water, and cover the gel with of the gel-washing solution and a few volume of Coomassie Staining solution. All solutions should better just immerging gel. 3. Continue staining until the protein bands are seen without background staining of the gel. Usually it takes 5-6 hours or overnight at 4˚C. 4. Retrieve the staining solution, wash quickly with water, then add destaining solution. Shake while washing. Keep pouring distaining solution on gel and shake until its color turns to more light and background is clear.
