CHRNA1 is an alpha muscle acetylcholine receptor that is involved in acetylcholine binding. There are two alpha isoforms within the muscle acetylcholine receptor. Isoform 1 is only expressed in skeletal muscle whereas Isoform 2 can be expressed in skeletal muscle along with the brain, heart, kidney, lung, thymus, and liver.
