EMA, Epithelial Membrane Antigen belongs to a group of glycosylated proteins with a molecular mass between 259 and 400 kDa, which are known as human milk fat globules (HMFG). Except in milk fat these membrane proteins have been found in a number of epithelia. The antibody E29 shows high similarity to the reaction pattern of polyclonal antibodies raised against HMFG.
