Parainfluenza 3, grade 2 Antigen, strain C243. Optimally infected cells are disrupted by sonication and then subjected to low speed centrifugation.The clarified suspension is concentrated by crossflow ultrafiltration. The resulting antigen preparation contains a high concentrationof virus and viral components as well as some cellular materials suspended in MEM. This antigen can be used “as is” in a variety of proven immunoassay procedures or may be further purified for specific applications.

Parainfluenza 3 virus components in MEM medium.

1.93 mg/ml, determined by dye binding assay (Biorad)

Antigen in ELISA. Sonicate before use. Inactivation of the virus components using gamma radiation. We are aware of no specific hazards associated with this product. The reagent has been inactivated and should contain no infectious material. Generally accepted good laboratory practices appropriate to biological reagents should be employed when handling this product.
