Background :

TRANCE / RANKL M-bM-^@M-^S Tumor Necrosis Factor-Related Activation-induced Cytokine, also known as Receptor Activator of NFM-NM-:B Ligand is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family and is a ligand for osteoprotegerin (OPG). TRANCE/RANKL functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation, is a key survival factor for dendritic cells and is involved in the regulation of T cell-dependent immune response. Overexpression of this protein leads to an increase of osteoclastogenesis and bone loss. This protein may also have a role in regulating apoptosis, by activating the anti-apoptotic kinase AKT/PKB through a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6).

Immunogen :

This antibody was raised against a GST-fusion protein containing amino acid residues 1-317 of human TRANCE/RANKL.
