Background :
TBK1 M-bM-^@M-^S TANK-binding kinase 1 is a regulator of the NFM-NM-:B (NFM-NM-:B p50 and NFM-NM-:B p65) signaling pathway. NFM-NM-:B signaling is controlled to a large extent by the sequestration of the NFM-NM-:B complex in the cytoplasm by its association with one of the IM-NM-:B family of proteins. IM-NM-:B is phosphorylated by the IkB Kinase (IKK) complex, resulting in the degradation of IM-NM-:B and the nuclear translocation of NFM-NM-:B. TANK is an IM-NM-:B family member that is specifically recognized and phosphorylated by TBK1, leading to the destruction of TANK and the activation of the NFM-NM-:B pathway.
