Background :

Retinoic acid receptors (RAR) are nuclear receptors that are activated by both all-trans retinoic acid and 9-cis retinoic acid. There are three retinoic acid receptors (RAR), RAR-M-NM-1, RAR-M-NM-2 and RAR-M-NM-3. RAR-M-NM-1 (Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group B member 1, NR1B1) interacts with NCoA3, NCoA6, NCoA7 and MLL to activate transcription of target genes. Chromosomal aberrations of RAR-M-NM-1 are sometimes involved in Promyelocytic leukemia.

Immunogen :

This RAR-a antibody was raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 420-443 (the F region) of human RARa.
