This antibody recognizes the Mr 200,000 gamma1-chain of human reduced and alkylated laminin produced by various cultured cells, which produce laminins complexed with it. The specificity of Mab BC17 has been confirmed by immunoprecipitation and Elisa by using recombinant gamma1- chain. This antibody only reacts with human cells and tissues. The monoclonal antibody can be widely applied in immunohistochemical studies as all basement membranes contain laminin trimers containing these chains.
