About the "Wnt7A" review reference, Wnt7A was not actually shown on any of the Westerns in that article. As far as I can determine, a Western was run and probed for Wnt7A using that Santa Cruz antibody but nothing showed up, and it was only done to eliminate the possibility that the IF done with the Wnt7B antibody detected Wnt7A, because that Wnt7B antibody is not specific for 7B but also detects Wnt7A (but only if it is very strong, I might add). The absence of ANY figure showing the Western for Wnt7A, plus the facts that no band was detected and no positive control mentioned (the WB was only reported as "data not shown") would not, in my opinion, make this article a sufficient reference for the Wnt7A review.

Thanks for your reply. Your effort on the Wnt antibodies is quite admirable. We know that there is almost always a story behind each successful new antibody. More often than not, the story is full of frustration.
We manually curate the antibodies from literature and try to provide reviews for some of the antibodies. We realize that we will never be able to delve into the detail as much as we like, and as deep as the individual investigator can do. It is our hope our reviews can provide good references for those commonly used antibodies, and provide some starting points to those antibodies that are not commonly cited.
